The MIPP concept Workshop School

The Department of Orthopedic Dentistry hosted an interregional school-seminar "The concept of MIPP (minimally invasive orthopedic manipulation) and its application for the manufacture of veneers, occlusal linings and thin-walled crowns."
The main speaker was Anush Arushanyan, Assistant of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, Head of the Dental Department No. 2. Having attended many courses (including international ones) devoted to this topic, she summarized and combined the main principles and details of modern aesthetic orthopedic dentistry.
At the beginning of the course, the participants got acquainted with the theoretical foundations of the MIPP concept, learned about the preparation of soft tissues, indications and contraindications for the manufacture of thin-walled structures, the technique of preparing hard tissues of teeth, and also studied case examples of earlier work. After that, the preparation of dental hard tissues for aesthetic designs was demonstrated using the example of a patient.
After getting acquainted in more detail, having studied the picture in the oral cavity through an operating dental microscope, the seminar students began to practice manipulative skills on their own on the patients' phantoms.
